The National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy found that between 50 and 70% of dogs and cats are given to shelters because owners can’t deal with their behavior problems. Animal behavior specialists like Diana Guerrero are working to spread training information so that many owners can retrain their pets and keep them.

British lawmakers eye pet law overhaul - World News - Webindia123.com The Parliament in the UK is looking at the Animal Welfare Bill, the first new legislation there to protect animals in 94 years! Evidently, it’s a move in the right direction as it imposes large fines and up to 51 weeks in jail for animal cruelty. Some say, however, that the document doesn’t go far enough in protecting circus animals or banning tail docking.
